Have you completed your education in a higher institution (e.g university, polytechnic) or qualified vocational training outside Germany, you can receive a job offer from an employer in Germany and residence permit, in accordance with Sections 18a and 18b (1) on the Residence Act - AufenthG) of the skilled immigration act.

​What are the requirements for a work visa?

You have completed a minimum of 2-3 years education or training in a recognized higher institution in your country (e.g university or polytechnic in Nigeria) or with the german chamber of commerce in your commerce in your country and you have work experience (1 year minimum)

Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte)
The "new" skilled workers immigration act offers from june 2024 a point system which enables jobseekers from third country nationals to enter germany and obtain a qualified employment within a period of one year.
Requirements for opportunity card

A university degree or a state recognized vocational qualification or a vocational qualification issued by the German Chamber of Commerce in your country.
